Okay, so now you’re pretty well versed on the pros and cons of the Sweet Sweat Waist Trainer and the J Sculpt Fitness Belt, but you may be wondering if there are any other good options out there. The answer is yes! The first waist trimmer I found was by the brand Mermaid’s Mystery. This one is cool because it’s almost a combination of the J Sculpt and the Sweet Sweat.
The Mermaid Mystery Waist Trimmer
The Mermaid Mystery Waist Trimmer is made of the same neoprene material as the Sweet Sweat, but has the waist cinching properties of the J Sculpt. It’s also pretty affordable at $22.99 on Amazon, and with over 10,000 5 star reviews, it’s definitely worth a shot. One reviewer even mentioned that she previously wore the Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer for more than two years, and ended up loving the Mermaid Mystery even more. The Mermaid Mystery Waist Trimmer comes in only three sizes, but it seems that each size encompasses size range.
The Perfotek Waist Trimmer Belt
Another highly rated option is the Perfotek Waist Trimmer Belt. This waist trimmer is also made of 100% neoprene, but I did notice that the Perfotek and the Mermaid’s Mystery do not mention that if they’re latex-free. One of the unique features of the Perfotek Waist Trimmer is that it’s one size fits all. It is available on Amazon for $19.99 and is currently on sale for only $14.99, a steal!
The Perfotek is similar in style to the Sweet Sweat. It does not act as a waist trainer and does not give the appearance of a cinched waist. The price is unbeatable, making the Perfotek Waist Trimmer Belt a cheaper alternative to the Sweet Sweat Waist Trimmer.

J Sculpt Fitness is a woman-owned, black-owned company and is a much younger company than Sports Research, the makers of Sweet Sweat. Sweet Sweat was founded in 1980, and is family owned and operated. This information may be important to some buyers so I thought I’d add it to save others from the research if they were interested.
Overall, the major differences between these two products lie in the design and the price. J Sculpt Fitness gives a more cinched waist look, but can interfere with certain workouts due to its restrictive properties. Sweet Sweat doesn’t necessarily give you the hourglass look while wearing the product, however, it allows for more movement and range of motion because it isn’t as restrictive.
